Dear Parent/Carer
As was inevitable with the reopening of schools, we have now been informed of a number of positive COVID-19 cases amongst both our student and staff population.
A student in Year 7 has tested positive (Sunday 14 March) after feeling unwell on Saturday 13 March. The student was in school last week and, after consultation with Public Health England, we have been advised that anyone who was in “close contact” with the student on Thursday and Friday of last week will need to self-isolate for 10 days. These students have been sent home this morning and will be able to return to school on Monday 22 March 2021.
We have had notification of a positive case of a student in Year 10 but this student has not been in school since last week and so there is no implication for close contacts within school.
We have also been notified that a member of staff tested positive over the weekend.
As always our thoughts are with the students, the members of staff and their families and we wish them a speedy recovery.
As will be the case for the foreseeable future, any students isolating due to COVID will be able to join their class for ‘live’ teaching via Google Classroom. If you have any specific concerns around your child, please contact your child’s Achievement Leader or Assistant Achievement Leader.
Yours sincerely
Mr S Huntington and Mr M Jones
Executive Principal and Senior Vice Principal
