HGSC Helps Vulnerable with Huge Donation

Back in December we held a Christmas Jumper Day to celebrate the upcoming holidays and we asked students to provide a contribution of £1 to go to charity for the occasion.

The charity of choice was Padley Group, a charity based in Derby which provides vulnerable people with housing and support, and today we had the pleasure of handing over the final amount, a staggering £915!

Kerry Collyer, the Marketing, Fundraising & Events Co-Ordinator for Padley Group, visited HGSC today to collect the cheque from Mr Huntington, the Head Boy and Head Girl, and she was very impressed after seeing the total, explaining school events such as Christmas Jumper days normally only raise £50-£100.

The large figure is of course down to the #TeamHeanor community coming together for a worthy cause and we thank students and their families for their generosity. The money will without doubt make a difference to the lives of many vulnerable people in Derby.
