School shows return to HGSA!

There was singing, there was dancing, there were nerves…

February saw the long-awaited return of our marvellous school shows as the school hall was once again transformed into a theatre the West End would envy.

Matilda The Musical, this year’s production, was performed over three nights in February by an extraordinary cast and crew of students with an interest in the performing arts.

Led by Mrs Shuttleworth and Mr Wetherburn, the team put in many hours of rehearsals which really paid off as the audience seats were filled by parents/carers and friends of the school.

Over recent years the team have brought a variety of scripts to the stage, including Sister Act, Return to the Forbidden Planet and We Will Rock You; however, we think Matilda was the best one yet!

Students who wish to take part in next year’s production should keep their eyes peeled in the autumn term for an open invite to audition.
