On Friday, Heanor Gate held our second Spencer Superstars Day to fundraise for the Spencer Academies Trust Charitable Foundation. The day was a phenomenal success, despite all the challenges that the great British weather put our way. We saw some elaborate fancy dress from both staff and students, ranging from the Minions to Freddie Mercury. In the afternoon, students enjoyed a few hours off-timetable having fun with bungee runs, sumo suits, live music performances and much more.
I’d like to thank everyone who supported this fundraising day; it was a true Team Heanor effort. Due to your generosity, together we raised a fantastic £2,200 for the charity, which is no mean feat considering the current financial climate.
Spencer Superstars Foundation aims to raise money annually to support the students of Spencer Academies Trust to pursue their passions across a variety of disciplines such as: The Arts, Sports, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, Conservation, Wellbeing and Community Projects. I would like to remind our parents/carers that our families are welcome to apply for financial gifts from the Foundation and indeed, students at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy received direct support from the charity last year. Should you wish to make an application, please email your request for support to my PA, claireworth@heanorgatespencer.com.
Thank you as always for your ongoing support.
