Trip Week 2023

TW3

For our final week of the 2022-2023 academic year, we wanted to reward our students for all of their hard work this year with a range of activities and enriching experiences. What a week it has been!

We have had a range of trips going out of school, including a trip to Disneyland Paris, a field trip to Liverpool and a Year 7 camping expedition, complete with rock climbing and raft building. Students have also been to Drayton Manor, the cinema and to Ninja Warrior as well as bowling, ice-skating, roller-skating and for a picnic in the park! Many Year 9 and Year 10 students also got a taste of the working world as part of our ‘Take Your Child to Work’ day on Wednesday.

When students have been in school, they have been treated to some external visitors coming in to share different careers and skills with them. This includes the army and the police force, who have been putting students through their paces! Businesses such as Lubrizol and Keele, Nottingham Trent and Lincoln universities have asked the students to consider their futures whilst engaging in team building activities. Students have also taken part in enterprise challenges, Unifrog challenges and health workshops. Our Heanorwealth Games have also been a highlight of the week.

We have finished the week with our Heanor Gate Extravaganza. As well as rewards assemblies, students have been competing in tutor group quizzes and an inter-form howler tennis tournament. There have also been some amazing performances as part of our summer sing-a-long.

Well done #Team Heanor. A fantastic way to end an amazing year!
