Yesterday we celebrated the fantastic effort of our Year 8 cohort in achieving graduation status. Our Year 8 students have been committed throughout the year to displaying our Team Heanor values of respect, pride, unity, organisation, integrity and resilience. The students have been tasked with demonstrating these week-in, week-out and documenting examples of how they have displayed these qualities in a personal written record to earn their place at graduation. Mrs Britton, Achievement Leader for Year 8 said:
“I couldn’t be more proud of what these students have achieved this year. They have worked tirelessly to achieve these awards and in doing so, have become even better students and citizens than they began the year as. Keep it up Year 8, Mrs Wainwright and I are so proud of each and every one of you”.
Following a formal awards assembly with our parents and carers, the students continued the celebrations with an after-school party. They shared in inflatable games, a BBQ, sweets, glitter-face paint, a rather lively disco and much more!
As always, thank you to all those who came into school to support our students for this event.
